Sixteen-year-old Nigerian Manasseh Aluga has won second place in the International Young Eco-Hero Award for his Kundu Waste Management Project, which turns plastic waste into eco-friendly building bricks. Awarded by the U.S.-based organization Action For Nature, Aluga’s project was recognized for its innovative approach to combating plastic pollution and its positive impact on local construction. Despite financial and personal challenges, Aluga’s initiative has been successful in producing and distributing eco-bricks since March 2022.
