An 11-year-old boy named Richard Weinert-Soto collapsed and died at Visalia Adventure Park in California on Saturday. He experienced a cardiac emergency while waiting in line for a waterslide. Despite immediate CPR efforts from park staff and subsequent medical attention, Richard was pronounced dead at the hospital. Richard had a history of heart and lung conditions, including six open-heart surgeries. The park stated that his death was not related to the park’s facilities and emphasized that the park remains safe. A GoFundMe page has been set up to assist with funeral expenses. The family remembered Richard as a joyful and loving boy who was enjoying his time at the park.
