March 19 2024- An analysis of state data by The Advocate reveals that one in 12 educators in Arkansas public schools are either unlicensed or teaching outside of their certification area. This figure has more than doubled over the past seven years, indicating a growing reliance on additional licensure exceptions by districts to address teacher shortages.
