Man Acquitted in Teen’s 2010 Killing After Multiple trials now Faces Unrelated Rape, Assault Charges

Michael Johnson, previously acquitted in the 2010 killing of a missing teenager, now faces charges of first- and second-degree rape, as well as first- and second-degree assault. Court documents reveal that Johnson, 40, was denied bail and remains in custody at the Baltimore County Detention Center. The charges stem from an incident reported by a 19-year-old victim in Rosedale, who stated she had known Johnson since June 2023 and had been living with him in October 2023 until she was reported missing. Johnson allegedly assaulted the victim after becoming upset during a phone call she had with her sister.
