Dads often seem like superheroes to their children, embodying strength and knowledge. Recently, Torbjörn Svensson, who has Usher’s syndrome causing him to lose both hearing and sight, showcased his determination to support his son during a soccer game. Using haptic sign language, communicated by an interpreter, Svensson was able to “see” his son play. A video of this moment, which received over 2.2 million views on Instagram, shows him celebrating with other spectators as his interpreter guides him. Svensson shared that his white cane helps him navigate, ensuring he doesn’t accidentally move into the field during the game. He expressed that being present for his son, Hugo, and participating in the experience is invaluable to him.
