March 1 2024- Perry students will resume full-time schedules starting March 18, as approved by the school board. The new bell schedule, which will continue into the next school year, includes revised hours for elementary, middle, and high schools. This change follows a period of early dismissals across the district after a deadly shooting at Perry High. Despite the missed instruction time, the state is not requiring Perry schools to make up for it, and calendar requirements for the district will be waived this year. The adjusted hours aim to provide students and staff with more time for self-care, mental health appointments, and managing workloads in the aftermath of the shooting.
