Tamiah Brevard-Rodriguez, a soon-to-be doctor in education, had her hands full when her water broke unexpectedly. But that didn’t stop her from pulling off an extraordinary feat. Just hours after giving birth in the passenger seat of a speeding Maserati, she was defending her doctoral dissertation from her hospital bed.
In a whirlwind of events on April 25, Brevard-Rodriguez, who was eight months pregnant at the time, found herself in the midst of childbirth while putting the final touches on her dissertation presentation. With her wife by her side, they raced to the hospital in their Maserati, reaching speeds of 120 mph on the Garden State Parkway.
Despite the chaos, Brevard-Rodriguez remained focused. With her newborn son, Enzo, cradled in one arm and her laptop in the other, she successfully defended her dissertation via Zoom just hours later. Talk about dedication!
