Special education students at Knickerbacker Middle School organized and hosted a Thanksgiving feast for teachers, faculty, administrators, and the Board of Education, continuing a 25-year tradition. Initially started by staff to provide a meal for students without a traditional Thanksgiving at home, the event evolved into a student-led effort as a gesture of gratitude to teachers. Special education teacher Bethany Spencer explained that the students develop practical life skills through the planning and execution of the event, including meal planning, cooking, and improving conversational and organizational skills.
