An elementary school teacher accused of sexually abusing at least eight young students was sentenced to life in prison this week. Manuel Ponce was a teacher at Sutton Elementary School in the Houston Independent School District when he was charged with continued sexual abuse of a child.
After his arrest was reported in February 2023, more students came forward bringing the total to eight. Some of the victims, as young as 8 years old, said Ponce touched them inappropriately in their private areas, court documents said.
