‘Bright’ Tennessee Boy, 10, Killed in Jet Ski Collision on Boy Scouts Campground

Jack Gear, a 10-year-old boy from Tennessee, tragically died after a jet ski collision on Old Hickory Lake. He was a passenger on a jet ski driven by a 19-year-old staff member at a Boy Scouts campground when they collided with another watercraft operated by another staff member. Both Jack and the teen driver sustained critical injuries, with Jack passing away later at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital. Jack’s father mourned his loss on Facebook, describing him as an amazing child, while his school principal remembered him as a bright kid who will be deeply missed at Union City Elementary School.
