Michelle Mack, a California mother, has been accused by the California Department of Justice of masterminding a widespread shoplifting scheme that spanned over a decade, involving the theft of millions of dollars’ worth of makeup and clothing from hundreds of stores nationwide. According to California Attorney General Rob Bonta, a complaint filed against Mack reveals that over $300,000 worth of stolen makeup and other products were discovered in her shared home with Kenneth Mack in Bonsall during a search conducted on December 6, 2023.
Mack allegedly funded airfares, accommodations, and rental cars for a group of up to twelve women who would then steal merchandise from various stores. The stolen goods were purportedly sent to Mack’s residence, where she would sell them at discounted rates through her Amazon Marketplace storefront. The group, referred to by investigators as the “California Girls,” operated across more than a dozen states, targeting outlets such as LensCrafters, Sephora, and at least 231 Ulta stores, as reported by NBC San Diego.
