At Tuesday’s Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) board meeting, the board will discuss whether to keep the current school start times for the 2025-26 school year. Last year, JCPS had nine different start times, but this was reduced to three for the 2024-25 school year. The board will also review proposed school calendars for the next two years. Additionally, there will be an update on the search for a new superintendent, as Dr. Marty Pollio will retire in July. Other topics may include legislative priorities, such as a proposal to allow retired teachers to return to work without penalty to their pension, and a potential change to allow Commercial Drivers License tests to be offered in multiple languages to increase the pool of bus driver candidates.
