The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has issued a 21-day notice to the Federal Government, signaling plans to go on strike if their demands are not met. This notice follows a meeting of ASUU’s National Executive Council at the University of Ibadan. The strike notice is in accordance with labor laws and aims to address unresolved issues from previous agreements with the government. Despite a recent meeting with the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, where ASUU sought to discuss these issues, the agreements have yet to be implemented. ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, noted that if no progress is made, the union will proceed with the strike.
