February 27 2024- Laquandra Williams, 44, has been arrested in Columbus, Ohio, for the fatal shooting of her 21-year-old son, Jahaad Hughes. Charging documents state that Williams, identified as Hughes’ mother, attempted to stab him with a knife inside their apartment. After being locked out by residents, she retrieved a gun from her vehicle. Hughes, preparing to leave, was shot at close range by Williams when he walked outside. Williams approached police at the scene and confessed to the shooting. She is now facing charges of aggravated murder and felonious assault.
