Teaching religion in school has been at the forefront of Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters’ newly announced social studies standards.
Many know of his plan to bring Bibles into Oklahoma classrooms. Now, he said the Bible isn’t the only religious text that will be taught. “To understand American history, to understand American government, American society, you have to understand the Bible,” Walters said.
