Family and friends of 13-year-old Ja’Niyah McMichael, who has been missing for nearly two weeks, organized a search party in Gary, Indiana. Ja’Niyah was last seen on August 11 at her home, and her disappearance was discovered the next morning when her mother, Jasmine McMichael, found the doors open and Ja’Niyah missing. Ja’Niyah is described as 4’03” and about 110 pounds, last seen wearing black pajamas, a black hooded sweatshirt, and black and red shoes. There have been no cellphone pings or social media activity to aid in her search. Jasmine McMichael and other volunteers have been conducting organized searches, with concerns that Ja’Niyah may have moved to nearby areas, including Chicago. The community and search organizers are focused on bringing Ja’Niyah home safely.
