Kayla Hamlin, Wyatt’s mother, expressed the emotional pressure she felt to ensure a fair sentencing for their former childcare provider, JoAnna Ford, who neglected Wyatt, resulting in his death from a traumatic brain injury. After the sentencing, Kayla and David Hamlin felt a sense of relief and are now focused on advocacy. They have started a foundation, Wyatt’s Warriors, to raise awareness about child abuse and offer financial support to victims and their families. The Hamlins have received strong community support and are helping other families in similar situations.
