The Cabinet has approved a proposal from the Civil Service and Government Development Council to reduce working hours for Qatari mothers employed in government entities. Circular No. (6) of 2025, issued today by the Council’s Chairman, formalizes the decision. Under the new policy, eligible female employees may leave two hours before the official end of duty during academic mid-year breaks, semester examinations, and year-end examinations, as part of efforts to promote flexible work practices and strengthen work-life balance. Employees in roles requiring full-time presence are exempted.
