Father Arrested After Son’s Body Found Decomposing on Family Couch for Days

Joseph Gregory Antonsen, 38, of Arizona, has been arrested after authorities found his 9-year-old son’s decomposing body sitting upright on a couch inside their Tucson-area home. Antonsen is facing charges of negligent homicide and child abuse. The investigation began with a welfare check at the cluttered home, which lacked basic amenities like running water and working toilets. Antonsen admitted to leaving his son’s body in the home for two days after the child became ill, claiming the boy had no pulse and wasn’t breathing. Neighbors expressed shock, describing the boy as friendly and revealing that they hadn’t seen him outside much recently. Antonsen, who is reliant on his parents in Panama, has a bond set at $500,000 and is considered a flight risk.
