The Federal Government has clarified that there is no age restriction for the National Examination Council (NECO) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams. Dr. Tanko Sununu, Minister of State for Education, stated that while the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and university entry will have an age restriction of 18 years starting from 2025, this does not apply to WAEC and NECO. Sununu emphasized that any misconceptions about age limits for these exams were due to misinterpretations of previous statements.
