The school district is considering terminating a teacher’s employment after they called in sick for two days to attend a concert in Nashville

Eileen Washburn, an English teacher at Lakota West High School and Loveland school board member, faces termination and is currently on unpaid leave for calling off sick to attend a concert in Nashville. The school board voted to continue her suspension without pay and recommended termination unless Washburn requests a hearing by April 22. The district alleges Washburn falsified sick leave and violated various policies and codes of conduct. Christina French, a former Lakota administrator, participated in the board’s decision, marking her first meeting as a newly appointed member. Washburn and her union have not yet provided comments on the matter.
