Vocational students in Massachusetts construct Dressers for children exiting Homeless shelters

Massachusetts vocational students at Northeast Metropolitan Tech in Wakefield are constructing dressers for children transitioning out of homeless shelters. Partnering with Mission of Deeds, the program enhances students’ carpentry skills and instills a sense of giving back. These pieces aim to alleviate the discomfort of storing clothes in trash bags and provide a sense of ownership for these children. If successful, the program may expand to other vocational schools in the state, complemented by donated stuffed lions from the Jimmy Fallon book series for added comfort.
