A Las Vegas-based legal firm is championing the rights of students with special needs in the midst of an educational crisis.

A new law firm in Las Vegas is focusing on advocating for students and parents, particularly those with special needs, who feel their educational needs are being neglected by public schools. Led by Sam Castor, the firm, named IEP Defenders, is specifically addressing issues related to Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) not being followed as required by federal law. With a significant portion of students in the Clark County School District on IEPs, concerns about the lack of adherence to these plans have been raised. The firm aims to work with schools to resolve these issues and, if necessary, take legal action to ensure compliance. Castor emphasizes that the ultimate goal is to ensure students receive the support they need, with the district bearing the responsibility for any necessary reimbursements. So far, the firm has taken on 20 cases and is prepared to handle many more in the coming years.
