A Mother in Las Vegas Launches a Private Preschool after Encountering Difficulties in Securing Childcare.

Jaini Jariwala, a Las Vegas mother, faced challenges in finding suitable childcare for her children due to long waitlists and high costs. Eventually, she left her corporate job to become a full-time parent and decided to open two Primrose schools during the pandemic to address the need for quality childcare in the valley. Her private preschools cater to children aged 12 months to five years, offering structured education and care. Despite the high demand for childcare in Nevada, licensed centres only meet a fraction of the need, with the average annual cost exceeding $10,000 for children under four. Jariwala emphasises the importance of health, safety, and learning when selecting a childcare option, recognising that every family’s needs are different. Currently, the state provides childcare subsidies to over 12,000 children statewide.
