Constance Jones, CEO of Noble Schools, Chicago’s largest high school charter network, announced her resignation after six years. She plans to facilitate a smooth transition to a new leader while overseeing the start of the school year. Under Jones’ leadership, Noble achieved organizational and financial stability, securing a long-term charter renewal from Chicago Public Schools. She took over in 2018 amid leadership changes and staff unionization efforts, implementing policy shifts like relaxing dress codes and reforming disciplinary practices. Jones, the first woman and Black person in her role, emphasized academic excellence and college preparation, with Noble students receiving numerous college offers annually. Despite political challenges, she remained an advocate for charter schools and school choice, recently selected for an Eisenhower Fellowship to study community engagement and violence prevention.
