Hospital a ‘beacon of light’ for mum who gave birth during Queensland floods

Amid the tragedy and destruction in flood-ravaged North Queensland there has also been joy.

Khirralaa Kathleen Greer is the only baby to have been born in Ingham hospital since the town flooded.

Her birth is welcome news in a town still reeling from the deaths of two women in floodwater this week.

Mother Kharma Greer was due to be taken by ambulance to Townsville Hospital to continue to have the birth induced on Saturday morning, but there was a hitch.
