Growing up with older parents, the idea of starting a family later in life seemed natural. Throughout her twenties, the author focused on personal and professional growth, enjoying a fulfilling career, and living a living a vibrant social life. It wasn’t until her late twenties that marriage and motherhood became considerations. With her husband, they chose to wait, prioritising travel, career advancement, and financial stability. However, conceiving proved challenging, prompting reflections on the decision to delay parenthood. Despite fertility struggles and increased pregnancy risks, she welcomed a healthy baby boy. While acknowledging the drawbacks of postponing parenthood, she appreciates the readiness and stability it afforded her, echoing the experience of her own parents.
