Parents from Carver Elementary School voiced concerns at a Little Rock School District (LRSD) board meeting after the administration announced plans to consolidate Carver and Washington Elementary, and close Brady Elementary. The proposed closures are affecting school staff, with Carver’s librarian, Latoya Morgan, facing the possibility of reapplying for her job for the third time in six years. Community leaders, including Little Rock City Director Andrea Lewis and Arkansas State Rep. Denise Ennett, criticized the lack of community involvement in the decision-making process. The board initially voted down a motion to delay the vote for community input, but later agreed to postpone the decision until Dec. 19, allowing more time for feedback.
