A study by the University of Southern Denmark involving 89 families and 181 children aged four to 17 found that reducing leisure screen time to three hours per week per person led to significant improvements in children’s behavior and emotional well-being. Most children typically spend seven to eight hours daily on screens for entertainment. Those who cut down on screen time showed enhancements in internalizing symptoms and prosocial behavior, moving from borderline to normal ranges on behavioral assessments. This reduction helped children process emotions better and improve social interactions.
