Special Education Parents, who say the System is Failing their kids, take Matters into their own Hands

Shannon Sutorius has kept a detailed record of her efforts to advocate for her son, Max, who has Tourette syndrome and ADHD, during his struggles with Idaho’s public education system. Max, now 20, eventually earned his high school diploma in December 2022 through an online school after years of battling the Marsh Valley School District to secure proper accommodations. Dissatisfied with the system, Max completed his education at home. Shannon describes this experience as one of the most traumatic of her life.
