After moving to the US to pursue a media career and having three sons, the author, originally from Finland, found that balancing work and family was much more challenging in the US than in Nordic countries. Despite achieving career goals, motherhood proved to be harder and more all-consuming in the US. The author was especially surprised by the difficulties compared to parenting norms in Finland.
