‘Every Day is a Unique Situation’ | As Students Face Post-COVID Hardships, one NKY Nonprofit is Stepping up

< 1 min read

Sarah Hunt, the family resource center coordinator at Glenn O. Swing Elementary School, uses her office to store essential items like diapers, non-perishable food, and cleaning supplies for students and their families. For over 25 years, Hunt has worked to bridge resource gaps for students, a task that has become more challenging post-COVID. The Covington Independent Public Schools district will benefit from an $81,000 donation from the nonprofit EducateNKY, aimed at enhancing family resource centers across the district. This funding will help address needs such as food insecurity, with many students’ families struggling to meet basic needs. The donation is part of EducateNKY’s broader commitment to supporting Northern Kentucky schools, totaling $150,000 this year.
