Little Girl Ends up in the ICU Due to ‘Bad Batch’ of Prescribed Medication, Mom Says

< 1 min read

A Kentucky mother, Tabitha Drew, is facing a dire situation after her daughter, Rayven, had a severe reaction to a prescribed medication, Clonidine oral suspension. After picking up the medication from Med Save pharmacy in Eminence, the pharmacy alerted Drew about a possible bad batch. Despite the warning, Drew administered the medication, leading Rayven to experience immediate adverse effects, including extreme fatigue and loss of consciousness. Drew called an ambulance, and emergency crews, who had already handled similar cases, administered Narcan—typically used to reverse opioid overdoses—to stabilize Rayven. She was taken to Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, where she remains in the ICU, receiving fluids and Narcan. Rayven’s condition is critical, with the mother anxiously waiting for her recovery. The incident has prompted a public health warning from county officials.
