Louisiana Superintendents May Soon Be Evaluated Based on Student Math and English Scores

< 1 min read

Louisiana lawmakers are considering legislation that would require superintendents of public school districts to be evaluated based on their students’ math and English test scores. Sponsored by Rep. John Wyble, the bill would mandate including these performance evaluations in superintendent contracts, affecting both new contracts and renewals after August 1. While some support the bill as a necessary step to enhance education standards, others, including the Louisiana Association of Superintendents, argue for keeping the evaluations optional for school districts.
