Over the past two days, school bus routes in the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District experienced brief disruptions due to encounters with migrants. On Tuesday, a group of three men attempted to stop a bus on Route A near Highway 94 and Cochera Via, causing the bus to navigate around them. The following morning, a Route B bus encountered about 20 people at a stop but, with the help of parents, ensured no one boarded the bus and students were kept safe. The incidents have been reported to the U.S. Border Patrol, California Highway Patrol, and San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. No injuries were reported. As a precaution, buses will now bypass stops where migrants are present and proceed to the next stop on the route. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating to determine if any criminal acts occurred.
