A woman convicted in the death of her adopted 6-year-old daughter was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison. Crystina Schroer was sentenced to 215 months in prison on Monday in connection with the death of her adopted daughter, Natalie Marie Garcia. Schroer pleaded no contest in August to the four charges against her. That meant she did not admit guilt but also did not contest the allegations in the killing of Natalie, who was known as Kennedy Jean Schroer after her adoption.
