Owyhee Elementary to become Early Childhood Learning Center in 2025-26

< 1 min read

Owyhee Elementary School in Boise, Idaho, will transition from a K-6 elementary school to an Early Childhood Learning Center starting in the 2025-26 school year. The Boise School District will hold two Parent Engagement meetings to discuss the change, with Owyhee staff and district representatives available to provide information and answer questions. Enrollment boundaries for nearby elementary schools will be redrawn to include families currently enrolled at Owyhee, with parent input in the process. Details of the boundary change process will be presented to the Boise School Board of Trustees, and the proposal for new boundaries will be finalized next year. This conversion is part of the District’s plan to better support the needs of early learners, with the Madison Early Childhood Center, including Head Start, relocating to the Fort Boise facility for the 2024-25 school year. Fort Boise is being transformed into a purpose-driven early childhood learning center.
