The Educational Results Partnership released its Honor Roll recognizing top-performing schools in Texas. Dallas County led North Texas with 71 schools honored out of 835 statewide. Tarrant County had 57 schools, Collin County 43, and Denton County 12. In more rural North Texas counties, Ellis and Johnson counties each had 5 schools, Hood and Kaufman counties 4 each, Rockwall County 2, and Parker, Hill, and Somervell counties had 1 each. Hillsboro Junior High School in Hill County was among those recognized, ranking in the top 12% statewide. The Honor Roll program highlights schools that excel in closing achievement gaps, based on student achievement data and supported by state and local business leaders.
