In Springfield, the Superintendent Search Committee has identified two city school administrators and the leader of a regional school district in Vermont as finalists for the role of superintendent. Kimberly Wells, currently serving as the chief schools officer for Springfield Public Schools; Sonia Dinnall, holding the position of chief of family and community engagement for Springfield’s empowerment zone schools; and Rene Sanchez, the superintendent of the Champlain Valley School District, emerged as the top candidates from a pool of 12 applicants who applied for the position two months ago.
