Klein ISD Mom Claims District Blocking Son with Special Needs from Some Football Activities

< 1 min read

Kayden Walker, a seventh grader at Kleb Intermediate with autism and Down syndrome, wants to participate with the school’s football team this fall. Despite passing a physical and his mother’s request for him to join practices or help with equipment, the Klein Independent School District has prohibited his involvement. Elizabeth Walker, his mother, claims this decision is discriminatory and has filed a formal complaint with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), which will review and possibly investigate the issue.
