A man who was found hiding in the bedroom of a 15-year-old was sentenced for criminal sexual conduct with a minor Wednesday, according to the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
Abel Sanjuan Tranquilino pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to eight years in prison by Judge Milton G. Kimpson, the attorney general’s office said.
It all started when family members of a 15-year-old found Tranquilino hiding in the minor’s bedroom in June 2022. The family then contacted Charleston County Detective James Jacko on Aug. 25, 2022, and told Jacko about the situation.
