February 7 2024- The American Library Association conducted a study revealing positive trends among Gen Z and Millennials regarding library usage. Contrary to stereotypes, 54 percent of those surveyed from these generations had visited a library in the previous 12 months. The study suggests that younger individuals are actively engaging with books, making purchases, and visiting libraries. Notably, even those who don’t consider themselves readers are utilizing libraries, with over half of non-readers in the surveyed group having visited their local library in the past year. This challenges stereotypes about younger generations and emphasizes their active involvement with library resources.
