February 23 2024- A report by the Centre for Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS (CeSHHAR) in Zimbabwe revealed that only 15% of parents in the country are discussing sex education with their adolescent children, leaving a gap in knowledge that contributes to increased vulnerability to early pregnancies. The study, titled “National Assessment on Adolescent Pregnancies in Zimbabwe,” found that adolescent pregnancy prevalence was 24 among those aged 10-19. The report highlights the need for improved sex education and communication between parents and adolescents in Zimbabwe.
