Parenting at a young age versus in one’s thirties presents vastly different challenges and experiences. Many individuals become parents in their late teens or early twenties, only to realise they were unprepared and wait until later in life to have more children. The contrast between parenting as a young, inexperienced individual and as a mature adult is stark, particularly for the older child.

He was primarily raised by his grandparents because his young parents lacked interest in caring for him. Now, with two toddlers of their own and the teen being 17, they expect him to join their family, despite never including him in their lives previously.
