According to the Times Higher Education (THE) report, Nigeria leads Africa’s top 10 universities in teaching quality, with four Nigerian institutions featured prominently.
- University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) tops the list with an index score of 85.3. Established in 2002 and renamed in 2021, UNICROSS is a state university with multiple campuses across Cross River State, Nigeria.
- Benson Idahosa University, a private Christian institution in Benin City, Nigeria, ranks second with a teaching quality index score of 84.9. Founded in 2002, it was formerly known as Christian Faith University.
- Rongo University in Kenya also ranks among Africa’s top universities for teaching quality.
