March 2 2024- The author shares their experience of having their daughter, Clara, start kindergarten early due to financial constraints. Despite warnings about potential challenges from others, Clara’s early start allowed the family to afford childcare. The decision became more complicated with the birth of twin boys. Seeking exceptions due to Clara’s September birthday, the author met with school officials to assess Clara’s readiness. As Clara now graduates college, the author reflects on the choice, and Clara expresses happiness about starting school early.
