UNICEF India has commended Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav for his efforts to improve menstrual health among adolescents. The praise follows a significant initiative where Rs 57.18 crore was distributed to the accounts of 19 lakh schoolgirls in the state as part of a cash transfer scheme. This funding, part of the ‘Samagra Shiksha’ programme, supports the provision of sanitary napkins and promotes hygiene and menstrual health awareness among girls in classes 7 to 12. The initiative, celebrated during an event in Bhopal on August 11, is aligned with UNICEF India’s broader goals of enhancing school hygiene and menstrual health.
